Chances are, if you live in Plainville or New Britain, you may already know Dr. Petit. You might have been one of his many patients during his time practicing medicine at his private practice on Washington Street, Whiting Street, or at New Britain General Hospital during his nearly 20 year career. You may have met Dr. Petit at any number of charity events he has sponsored through his incredible foundation, The Petit Family Foundation.
Though great tragedy struck Bill and his family, Dr. Petit has since worked tirelessly to improve his community at home and the world at large. In addition to serving as the President of the Petit Family Foundation since 2008, Dr. Petit has also received numerous accolades for his charitable work, including being named one of the first 100 Male Leaders Against Domestic Violence from the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence and was honored with the Community Leader award from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Bill has dedicated his life to improving his community through private, charitable work. Now, he has a plan to tackle important issues that require a thoughtful, dedicated approach. Here are a few important issues that Dr. Petit will work to resolve as your representative. Find out more at The Issues page.
Connecticut is projected to have a budget deficit of $322.9 million in 2016, with some estimates placing total debt as high as $44 billion. Dr. Petit understands that we cannot continue this unsustainable level of spending, and will work to eliminate our deficit.
There are of course things that the state must, and should, spend money on, but in this time of fiscal crisis, we need to take a closer look at how much money we are spending and where we spending the most money.
Dr. Petit believes small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy. His family has been running small businesses for generations, and Bill has seen how the growth in over-regulation by the state and the increases in taxes and fees has impacted them. The state needs to stop punishing business owners.
